LG has just announced the second edition of the Watch Urbane, the company's high-end Android Wear smartwatch.

The Watch Urbane 2nd Edition offers a number of improvements over the original Watch Urbane, including LTE and 3G connectivity, allowing the Watch Urbane to work as a standalone device rather than needing to be connected to a smartphone at all times.

Like the original Watch Urbane, the new device features a 1.2GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 400. Unlike the original Watch Urbane, the second edition features a larger 1.38-inch display with a resolution of 480×480, which is far better than the 320×320 1.3-inch display on the original device.

The battery has also been improved, offering a 570 mAh capacity, over the original device's 410 mAh battery. This will be important in order to keep up with the battery draining LTE connectivity.

As far as RAM goes, the Watch Urbane 2 offers a little more at 768MB compared to the 512 offered on the original. Both devices include 4GB of on-board storage and have IP67 water and dust resistance.

As far as design goes, the new device looks very similar to its predecessor, however the new Urbane is slightly smaller and a little thicker, likely to accommodate for the larger battery. It features Android Wear, but also includes some software from LG to offer shortcuts to things like settings and contacts.

The release marks the first Android Wear device with LTE connecitivity, however the company did release the Watch Urbane LTEÂ earlier this year, ditching Android Wear for WebOS.

The Watch Urbane 2nd Edition will be available in the U.S. and Korea first, and there's no word just yet on pricing and availability.
