Some owners of the new iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have reported that their device shuts down for no apparent reason, and a poll indicates that iPhone 6s users and those on iOS 9.0.1 are the most affected.

Issues with Apple's latest iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus are starting to come to light, with more users complaining that their new smartphones are randomly powering off.
The iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus have been available for just one week â going on sale Friday, September 25 â but reports regarding various problems are already starting to pile up. Early adopters have reportedly experienced several issues with the latest iPhones, the most serious of which is the random shutdowns.
It's unclear at this point just what causes the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus to randomly power off. Some speculate that it may be related to the power button overheating, others believe it may be something software-related.
Owners of the iPhone 6s or iPhone 6s Plus have flocked to Apple's support communities, Reddit and MacRumors Forums, describing how their device randomly shut down.
One user on Apple's support communities notes that their 128 GB iPhone 6s powered off the past couple of nights, for no apparent reason.
"In the morning you then have to push the power-on button for a long time to get it started," the user explains.
"Same issue here iPhone 6S 64 GB," reveals another. "I've had my phone since Friday and it has powered off/refused to come out of sleep at least once a day since. I set mine up from scratch so I at least know its not a problem stemming from an iCloud backup. I contacted Apple and they are sending me to my local Apple Store to have it examined/replaced."
The vast majority of such cases affects iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s users, but it seems that some iPhone 6 owners experienced this issue as well, which indicates that the latest version of iOS may in fact be the problem.
MacRumors started a poll on the matter, trying to determine the culprit by gathering data from affected users. The poll asks users to provide their iPhone's model, OS, and the circumstances, symptoms and frequency of the random shutdowns.
Based on the answers so far, the random shutdowns don't seem to be tied to anything specific. The poll, however, suggests that iPhone 6s users and those running iOS 9.0.1 are the most affected.
At the same time, a number of users also reveal that they were running iOS 9.1 public beta when their iPhone powered off. Reverting to iOS 9.0.2 apparently did the trick for some.
"Has happened to me three times already on my 128 GB 6S Plus. Downgraded from 9.1 b3 back to 9.0.2 and hasn't happened since," writes one Reddit user.
Apple has yet to issue a statement on the matter or reveal the cause of this issue, but it should address the problem soon enough. If the random shutdowns turn out to be software-related and not tied to hardware, a subsequent software update should fix the issues.
Aside from the random shutdowns, iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus users also complained of overheating power buttons, non-responding fingerprint scanners, slow performance and other issues. Owners of other iPhone models upgraded to the new iOS version also complained of slower performance after the software bump.
